Irish Wedding Traditions

It's such an honor for Ireland when a couple chooses to marry on our fair shores. It's such an honor for Ireland when a couple chooses to marry on our fair shores.

You could pick anywhere in the world, for sure, but there's something so special about an Irish wedding. The scenery, the craic, and the insanely talented vendors make this country an amazing choice for a wedding, we reckon. We're always so glad when others agree. So today we’re taking a look at the wedding of Mary, an oncology nurse and Eric who owns a small furniture store. The couple came all the way to Barley Lake, Co. Cork from Bozeman, Montana and their planning was helped along by wedding stylist and planner, Alise Taggart. Photographer Paula O’Hara captured their day beautifully. Take a look!Food & Drink

During your cocktail hour, adds a corned beef carving station. Start off dinner with a potato soup. Be sure to stock the bar with plenty of Guinness, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Jameson, and display an appropriate Irish proverb. My favorite: " An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold onto one blade of grass and not fall off the face of the earth." Sláinte!
In Ireland of centuries ago, Sunday was the most popular day to be married. This made sense as it was the day when the working week was done and people were free to attend the simple marriage ceremonies that were available at the time. Church bells in Christian religions drive away the evil spirits from the marriage to be.

Irish weddings consist of a variety celebrations and enjoyments. It will be a grand function with family and friends.Happiness flow throughout the day.Preparations for the marriage were in full swing. Lots of things had been purchased and the rest were to be purchased on that very day.
